Cancellation after a confirmed booking

Once a stay is marked Booked, cancellation, refunds and date changes are decided by the host. Read the Cancellation Policy before you request.

At Chackos Homestay, Kaduthuruthy, Kottayam, Kerala, India, we understand that travel plans may sometimes change. The following cancellation and refund policy applies to reservations made through our website or directly with Chackos Homestay.

1. Booking Confirmation
A reservation is confirmed after payment of the required 30% advance payment.
The remaining 70% of the total booking amount is payable at check-in.

2. Cancellation by the Guest
Cancellation 7 days or more before check-in
If the guest cancels the reservation 7 days or more before the scheduled check-in date, the full 30% advance payment will be refunded, subject to any non-refundable payment gateway or transaction charges, where applicable.
Cancellation 3 to 6 days before check-in
If the guest cancels the reservation between 3 and 6 days before the scheduled check-in date, 50% of the advance payment will be refunded.
Cancellation within 48 hours of check-in
If the guest cancels the reservation within 48 hours of the scheduled check-in time, the advance payment will be non-refundable.

3. No-Show
If a guest does not arrive on the scheduled check-in date without prior notice, the booking will be treated as a no-show and the advance payment will not be refunded.

4. Early Departure
If a guest checks out earlier than the confirmed departure date, no refund will normally be provided for the unused nights.

5. Cancellation by Chackos Homestay
In the unlikely event that Chackos Homestay has to cancel a confirmed reservation for reasons within our control, we will provide the guest with a full refund of the amount paid to us.
Our liability will be limited to the amount actually paid for the reservation.

6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will normally be processed through the original payment method.
The time taken for the refund to appear in the guest's account may depend on the payment gateway, bank or card issuer.
Any applicable payment gateway or transaction charges may be deducted where they are non-refundable.

7. Modification of Booking
Requests to change the check-in date, check-out date or number of guests are subject to availability.
Any change may affect the booking price and cancellation conditions.
Guests are requested to contact Chackos Homestay as early as possible if they need to modify their reservation.

8. Force Majeure
Chackos Homestay will consider exceptional circumstances beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, government restrictions, major travel disruptions or other force majeure events.
Any refund or alternative arrangement in such circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

10. Acceptance of the Policy
By making a reservation with Chackos Homestay, the guest confirms that they have read, understood and accepted this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
